NGOs and academics in the United States are circulating a letter of protest to OAS Secretary-General Insulza in response to his shocking comments of praise for the recent Senate elections in Haiti, which were widely considered flawed by international observers - including the OAS in the run-up to the election - given that, among other severe problems, candidates of Fanmi Lavalas - the party of deposed former President Aristide - were not allowed to participate.
