Bernstein, Peter L. 1996. Against the Gods: The Remarkable Story of Risk (NY: John Wiley & Sons). Farmer used a computer built into a shoe. There is an entertaining book about Farmer's exploits in Las Vegas, The Eudaemonic Pie by Thomas A Bass.
