Frankly, Michael Moore, Noam Chomsky, Ralph Nader, and other
well-known figures of the left are not up to this task. If we exclude
miracles, the personification of the primary challenge to Obama -- if
it's going to emerge -- is most likely to come from inside the
Democratic Party!...
The "primary challenge" to Obama from the left was and is personified
in Dennis Kucinich. There is no alternative in sight. Small as his
height may be, no other Dumbocrat on the national stage (Marcy Kaptur
possibly excepted) comes up to his knees. Unfortunately for Julio
(though emphasizing how "dangerous" even the slightest possibility of
a real contest in the DP primary was and is), Representative Kucinich
has been vilified in the corporate media (including such "leftist"
outposts as the Stewart/Colbert hour) far more and far more
effectively (by pervasive ridicule) than Chomsky, Moore, and Nader
combined. The Dumbocratic Party primary remains the blind alley it
has always been.
