But it is the topic head.
I'd say that almost anyone in his position would be very similar. If
someone differed, i.e., tried to buck the political system's strong
bourgeois bias without sufficient popular support, he or she would
likely be labeled "insane" and thrown out of office.
"insane" is mild compared to what he's already been labeled as. But
even a moderately courageous bourgeois politician, convinced that his
policies were essential to the public interest and would be proven to
be so, would accept being defeated after a campaign on those vital
issues because then, having been vindicated by the events, he would
win the next elections with a decisive mandate.
Obama is obviously far from that sort of politician.
