I have no comment on the advice, not being an expert. But I do have a quarrel with the premise that will be another Great Depression; history does not repat itself like that. I don't know either what kind ofperiod we are entering. I suspect it will be grounded in the 'construction' of a (oxymoron coming) stable reserve army of labor. The high proportion of adjuncts in colleges and univrsities is perhaps what more and more employment will look like. It won't have the romance of The Depression: Highly visible Soup LInes, WPA progects, Sit-Down strikes, etc. and will be longer lasting. And I'm not sure what effect it will have on left activity.
