militia to "help defend against what they believe are improper federal
infringements on state sovereignty." Despite the state's troubled
history with right-wing militancy [think of the 1995 Oklahoma City
bombing], some state legislators believe taking up arms is the only
way the Sooner State can defend itself against the encroachment of the
feds. "It's not a far-right crazy plan or anything like that," said a
Tulsa-based tea partier. "This would be done with the full cooperation
of the state Legislature."<

doesn't Oklahoma already have a state militia, i.e., the Oklahoma
National Guard?
