George is a candidate for Chair of the Assembly of State Conferences of AAUP. I am also a candidate for the same national position. The ballot has gone out to all AAUP members in state conferences so you must be one of them.
I don't know the details that George is citing but I know that he is very opposed to the practices of AAUP and I sense that he wants his candidacy to make a statement about AAUP. Actually, that mailing doesn't even tell you that he is a candidate for the national office. However, you will see both his and my names on the ballots, and five others.
