In today's NY Times, in the feature "Room for Debate Blog", several economists
give their (lack of) ideas for creating jobs. The title of today's blog is
"Can Obama Create More Jobs Soon?

The liberals advocate more federal spending. Galbraith advocates lowering the
retirement age in Social Security to 55 so as to clear the way for younger
workers.

The director of undergraduate studies in economics at Harvard University,
Jeffery A. Miron, advocates raising the retirement age so as to reduce
entitlement spending. He also advocates the government doing nothing.

A paucity of ideas.

My own idea is in the current print edition of Counterpunch.
