similarly, back when I was at Occidental College, we interviewed a
"radical" economist who seemed to be a Shaikh student. He linked a
"Marxian" theory of unproductive labor to a very conservative one (in
which the government is "unproductive" almost by definition). I felt
bad (as the resident radical) that I pushed to keep him from being
hired.
