Too bad about the job in France.  At the dedication in San Francisco of the 
monument to the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade a couple of years ago, 
george Schultz showed up.  He was roundly booed.  I think his current wife is 
or was then the SF protocol officer or something similar.
