The author of the piece that I quoted from is a financier who appears
to be an Ayn Rand-type nut.

Outside of these extreme nut-cases, it is in general not very common
to hear this sort of thing admitted openly. After all the author is
admitting that there is such a thing as class conflict, which the
saner elements of the capitalist class would consider an extremely
tactless thing to admit.

Usually we get some sanctimonious bullshit like business-owners are
"job creators" who deserve our gratitude and appreciation - and of
course subsidies and tax-breaks to continue doing "God's work".
