Jeff Sachs has a patronizing attitude towards the poor especially towards Africa, but just as Doug says in the above linked article, he is mostly on the side of the angels these days. I like to give him the benefit of the doubt. He made tragic mistakes in the past (tragic for other people that is), but he had the intelligence and maturity to learn from those and become a better person.
