David suggested that Quadaffi was not a legitimate head of state.  I
agree.  Even in the United States, elections are highly questionable;
Bush v. Gore, Citizens United, lack of transparency, government that
ignores the law whenever it is convenient.  To the extent that the
government is only a figleaf for powerful business interest, claims of
legitimacy are weaker.

I don't have any easy answers, but I worry everytime the US acts in
the name of Democracy.
