No, contrary to a bunch of motley Marxist and Trotskyite opportunist
bureaucrats, I haven't argued for a "plague on both your houses" because "it
is unclear what is going to happen", but on principled grounds. My people
neither support the military adventures of Western imperialism, nor
Gaddafi's side in the civil war. We are therefore implacably hostile to
exploiter-bureaucrats like Gilbert Achcar and their moral fairytales.

There is no particular mystery about what is going to happen in Libya I
think, the only real "uncertainty" concerns the time-span within which the
drama will play itself out. The UK-US-France axis thought that Gaddafi could
be very rapidly defeated, but that is simply not the case. In addition, it
is not even clear that the local opposition can claim majority support in
the country.

But that aside, if we cannot know exactly what will happen yet - even
well-informed TV reporters who are on the scene don't know - this doesn't
mean we cannot define our attitude clearly, or that we cannot explain why
things are happening. It is not too difficult.
