Amin and Harvey are the ones American's would know best. There are also Gerard Dumenil, Costas Lapavitsas and Alain Badiou in it. Costas might not be well known at the other side of the Atlantic, but he is reasonably known here. At least, I knew of him. The documentary does a good job at explaining the odius debt concept, giving a detailed historical account:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Odious_debt Also look at this: http://www.eurodad.org/whatsnew/articles.aspx?id=4473 and this: http://www.gopetition.com/petition/43171.html The last one is the CALL FOR AN AUDIT COMMISSION ON GREEK PUBLIC DEBT. American workers can try a similar strategy for state debts in the US and you guys can play a role in such audits. Do it my friends, do it! What is good for Greece may be good for California or Wisconsin. Such an audit was done in Equador after Rafael Correa won the 2006 election, so clearly it is doable.
