I must say I dont find his criticism of Engels to be very substantive. Does he Ingo claim that commodities in pre capitalist economies did not exchange in proportion to their values? Or is he claiming that monetary calculation occured much earlier than Engels thought? He clearly objects to Engels claim that the sequene of forms presented in Capital was an actual historical sequence, but he does not seem to be citing any historical sources to prove Engels wrong.
