This is one of those rare occasions when Louis, Doug and I agree with one another simultaneously. Please give up on this Obama thing. We all may respect those who supported Obama for "change" before the election and may continue to do so, but is it not evident after all of these that Obama is "no-change"? Or is yours about one of those "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" cases? Anyway, he ran very clearly as a Clintonian. He said not one thing against the Clinton years in the campaign. So, if you were listening to his campaign rhetoric you would expect him to do pretty much exactly as he has. And most of all he _has_ accomplished some changes. What a whopper you all tell when you ignore the pay equity law, the stimulus, health care reform, substantially stopping the war in Iraq. He very specifically did not say he would stop the war in Afghanistan. I know because I noted that he didn't say that. Even on that his last act was to begin to end it. Two liberals appointed to the Supreme Court. An NLRB that is supporting labor such as to draw a big attack from the Republicans. There are some reforms of banking regulation So, don't try to tell me there has been no change whatsoever. That is basically a big lie, ok. (smiles). The assertion that he could in two years have accomplished major reform of Reaganism that has settled in for 30 years, with unbelievably rabid Reaganites fighting him tooth and nail both Reps and Dems, is so unrealistic that it is clearly ultra-left demagogy. O said about 100 times "Change comes from the bottom up ; not from the top down". When the bottom rested during 2009 - 2010 ( which really is the usual thing; Americans don't activate polticially in interims ) , the rightwing got it going. The left slept while the Tea Party burned. So, if you go off into political Never Never land ( see the Anglo-American Peter Pan myth) with Lou and Doug, expect some real "no-change" ,comrade. You ain't seen the "no-change" that will happen if the Republican get control of the Presidency and the Senate.
