Mike Robinette Amazing how Tom failed to mentioned that the top 1%
also control more wealth than the next 150,000, 000 people in the
country. If you make most of the money, you're going to pay more taxes
just by the sheer size of your wealth. The income gap is the widest it
has been since just before the great depression. While middle class
wages continue to slide, their incomes are sky rocketing. They don't
make shit and are paying a measly 15% on their capital gains income.
People are tired of watching corporations make record profits, invest
those profits overseas and still be rewarded with huge tax breaks in
the US. If your work force is outside the US, I don't care if your
company started here, you are a foreign country and a tariff should be
added to any goods you import into the US from your overseas factory.
The ultra-rich have been looking out for themselves for decades.
People are fed up and the Occupy Wall Street movement is the result.
Some people just don't get it either because they are blind to the
inequalities that exist in our system, or they just don't give a shit.
Maybe they're just too damn stupid to read the countless articles
about the concentration of wealth in this country. Nobody is asking
for a hand out. They're just asking for a fair shake for all, not just
the ridiculously rich. Instead of giving CEO's salaries that are
hundreds of times more than their average employee, some of that
should be going into employees paychecks. So long as this stays a
peaceful protest with real objectives and not another hippy movement,
I support it.
