Ha, a monument to secular power. Yale and Harvard both got a big gift during the Depression from the Harkness family. They took advantage of low wages and plentiful labor to splurge - Yale to build the gothic colleges, Harvard to build its New England-y houses. At Yale, something like an entire village of Italian artisans was imported to do the friezes and stained-glass windows. _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
