It's true that LW is not running for re-election. The point is that LW
is one of the most progressive members of Congress, precisely because
she represents one of the most progressive districts. She is
progressive on issues that people are mobilized on and following, like
ending the war in Afghanistan. People are not mobilized around and
following Bahrain. If they were, she would be better on the issue.

95% of Congress would have been happy to live with Mubarak forever.
When Americans saw Egyptians on TV demanding their freedom, it was a
new story.

Unfortunately, the fact that some folks are willing to assume that
Woolsey is good on this issue, just because she is "one of the most
progressive Members of Congress," is itself evidence of a key problem
we face. With 95% of Congress, it doesn't work like that. You have to
fight each thing anew. She's no Dennis Kucinich, nor even a John
Conyers.
