This seems like the traditional complaint of Marxists against Keynesians: "you cannot reform capitalism, you need to replace it". That's really too bad, because I suspect in concrete policy terms, there is really a great deal of agreement on the left - liberal or radical: end the imperialist wars, end the austerity madness, tax financial transactions, infrastructure investment, more money for public education at all levels, single-payer health care etc. But who cares about all that?
