Back in the '70s I met an old ex-CP member who at 18 had joined the party and had created the first CP local chapter in Minneapolis. Through a long cold winter he had appeared every morning on the same street corner with a bundle of Daily Workers. In that cold weather no one would stop to buy a paper. But when warm weather came, many remembered that young man who had stood in the cold all winter; they stopped to chat, and the CP in Minneapolis was born. You are right that the most important results of OWS (which won't appear for some time) will be achieved by groups working independently of OWS. But OWS will have made their achievements possible. We need them to hang on through the cold and the rain and the snow. They are a beacon for the world.
