I think the threat of actual viruses is much less than it used to be but my computer at work (a Dell running XP Pro) has to have spyware removed from it at least once a year. That's Columbia University with its heavy duty firewalls. While it is true that once you are in MS Word, it does not behave any differently on a Mac than on a Windows machine. For me, the appeal of a Mac is that it is a much more stable platform since it is based on Unix, the same operating system that I work on from 9-5 when I am not writing film reviews or attacks on the Brenner thesis. Please don't mention this to my boss. _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
