Here's a paragraph from this morning's NYTimes story on the latest job report.  
The report is that the unemployment rate dropped.

"Such job growth is not nearly fast enough to recover the losses from the Great 
Recession and its aftermath. Today the United States economy is producing even 
more goods and services than it did when the recession officially began in 
December 2007, but with about five million fewer workers."

So the lucky five million have chosen leisure.  What a country.  

Given the bizarre stuff I'm reading in other parts of my economic interests, 
this all needs Lewis Carroll on the job.
