it may be wild, but it's rather common in the US. Peter Temin, who's a
relatively smart (though orthodox) economic historian, once referred
to "socialism in many countries" to refer to statist responses to the
failure of capitalism during the 1920s & 1930s. This included FDR's
New Deal.
