I don't understand why any leftist wants to pay any attention to the two
major parties. But if one must pay attention to as trivial a matter as
presidential elections, then I think one should heed the point made by Black
Agenda: Vote against The More Effective Evil - that is, vote against Obama
regardless of who is running against him. Check the Black Agenda web site
for the argument on this.

The last election I paid any attention to was 1964. Then came the
destruction of democracy in the Dominican Republic and I said enough of this
shit. That was my first step in radicalization. It took about 18 months more
before I began to consider a Marxist position. And about another 40 years
before I came to a simple anti-capitalist position, not confined to Marxism
or any other particular theory. But in any case, through all changes I never
gave one minute's consideration to actually voting for a DP candidate. If I
were to vote this fall, which I won't, I would vote for Romney.

[Pen-l] election

To be heretical on this list: if the election is shaping up as a contest
between Obama/Acemoglu &Robinson versus Romney/Landes, I am voting for the
former.
