The US is a violent lot, if not as prone to violent wholesale revolutions. There have been four heads of state assassinated in office, Reagan was almost another, Ford had like 3 pot shots fired in as many weeks, who knows how many other attempts? I do wonder? Teddy Roosevelt was shot after leaving office.
