It looks to me more like a front group for the Democratic Leadership Council than the PPI, still therefore "not left by any definition". See the list of DP senators and representatives who are its honorary co-chairs: http://www.thirdway.org/co_chairs. Also its Board of Trustees, comprising Wall Street bankers, lawyers, and hi tech execs all of whom, it would appear, share DP leanings - Bill Daley, Obama's former chief of staff, foremost among them. http://www.thirdway.org/trustees#trustee_40 In other words, a policy and propaganda arm of the Obama administration which is seeking to head off and contain anti-austerity protests from the Democratic party's working class base. A Romney administration cutting back public pension and health programs would have been a "less effective evil" in this regard. _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
