The paper PK refers to
http://faculty.wcas.northwestern.edu/%7Ejnd260/cab/CAB2012%20-%20Page1.pdf is
worth a closer look.

I was surprised to learn that the 1% are much more willing to cut military
spending than the general public.

In addition, the 1% are much more willing to have a deficit during a recession
or war than the general public. I am not

surprised since buying government bonds looks better than paying higher taxes.
