At the Left Forum, I did not get a chance to meet any of you except for Doug 
Henwood and Patrick Bond - both of whom (as expected) had to quickly run off to 
another engagement - and Lou Proyect, with whom I had a delightful talk.  I was 
fortunate in hooking up with a few others, but regret not meeting more of you.

James Bamford has written about the much larger NSA spy operation.  What gave 
the new revelations power was that it named a corporate name.  But we knew 
about that from the earlier news about the splitter in AT&T's San Francisco 
office.

It must be hard for poor Obama.  Where should we fight next?  Syria is 
complicated.  Iran is relatively big - unless we can just  bomb without landing 
any troops.  Palau would be easy, but we have not done the hard work of 
manufacturing evil there.

He does support freedom of the press - as long as it is the freedom to exercise 
self-censorship.
