http://www.abc.net.au/btn/story/s3529611.htm has a solution of removing the 
horns from 
living rhinos eliminating the incentives for hunters. If a prosthetic horn can 
be 
constructed there might be little impact to their life in the wild. 


http://www.savetherhino.org/rhino_info/issues_for_debate/de-horning indicates 
that the 
horns will grow back in two years so that dehorning has to be done annual or 
bi-annual 
basis. 


It would be better if there weren't quacks around that claim benefits for rhino 
horn.
