The planet will be just fine. However, it will not simply make life
intolerable. There is a real chance of human extincition, and a larger
chance of losing technology and referting back to primitive agriculture or
forager (which would of course include a die-off.) And neither Robin nor I
are directing our comments towards elites, but towards  activists. Hahnel
is calling for unity around a particular program which I feel would be
disastrous. I'm pointing out that it would be disastrous and that there are
in fact alternatives. If you feel detailed demandsd are useless, you shold
take that up with Marx and Engles who often advocated specific programs,
and took the time to do detailed critques of programs they disagreed with .
