It is an interesting article, but the Tea Party has been pronounced dead

I think it is quite possible that the Tea Party is at the height of its
national *influence*, but its base of rabid Southern racists are not going
anywhere anytime soon. The world will just have to wait until they die out
over the next couple of decades and take their venomous hate with them to
the grave. You should read this focus group report:

CB: I'd say the height of their national influence was 2010 elections
when they took the House of Represenatives.  They went down from there
in 2012 , because Obama won in 2012 their main target has always been
Obama , including in 2010; they made him their target even though he
was running and won on it. Now they just lost a big one in the
shutdown/debt ceiling fight. The major media is covering that up. It's
like not reporting on Gettysburg in the weeks following the battle.
