This is interesting to me because 1) the Humane Society is a huge organization 
with people everywhere in the U.S. and 2) they are hardliners on protecting the 
power of the people to democratically regulate capitalism, especially the 
conditions under which commodities are produced. That's why they're "good on 
trade," and hate the WTO and NAFTA as much as they should. If you think you 
have a right to know whether the workers who made the jeans you're wearing had 
bathroom breaks, if you think you have a right to know how old the kids were 
who picked the lettuce you're eating, their fight is your fight. So it would be 
a very good thing for humanity in general if the Humane Society wins this 
fight. 

If the Humane Society wants to maintain the health of farm animals then they 
can expect my support. 

In Washington State, Initiative 522 would have required labeling of GMO food, 
but big business was 
able to defeat the initiative. 

Do you think that a state should be able to ban Kosher meat sales?
