Louis never met an uprising he didn't like, and it doesn't seem
to matter much who's doing the rising-up, or why, or who benefits
from it. This outlook puzzles me deeply, though I have really tried
to understand it.

I can sorta get part of it. Seeing cops on the receiving end of
a beating, for once, is undoubtedly gratifying. And since I generally
reject the lesser-evil approach to politics, well, where do I get
off preferring Putin to NATO, or Assad to Netanyahu?

Arguably Louis is more consistent than I am -- but I still think
he's wrong.
