The OSS did not make decisions based on the rivalry between the Viet Minh that had millions of followers versus a Trotskyist sect, Shane. In terms of Ho's alliances, I am not in the habit of looking at things from the purist lens of the marginal sect world that I left 35 years ago. You, of course, are free to live as if nothing has changed since 1960.
