I just got Piketty's book and have not had time to delve into it.  He does
not mention Hilferding although Hilferding's ratio of the rate of profit
and economic growth seemed to bear some similarity with Hilferding's
similar inequality between the rate of interest in the rate of profit.
 Hilferding, of course, was a close student of Marx.
