A strong statement by David Graeber drawing the parallel between the arms boycott of the radical democratic Spanish republic in the 30’s which permitted Franco's fascist-backed army to triumph, and the refusal of the Erdogan government, with the tacit acceptance of its NATO allies, to allow Kurdish volunteers and arms to cross the border to aid in the defence of Kobani.
