"According to several different eyewitnesses [Max Blumenthal] spoke to,

soldiers were executing a new practice during this latest Gaza war. As Max puts
it: 'wanton targeting of Palestinian civilians who spoke Hebrew'."

A number of years ago a classmate from a foreign country said that in his
country it was illegal to speak Jewish. It turned out that he was from Israel
(his parents migrated from Russia) and by Jewish he meant Yiddish.

He gave me a little history of Modern Hebrew where new words were added to
ancient Hebrew to correspond to all the new things that were needed for modern
conversations. He was of the opinion that Hebrew was basically a secret
language that non-Israeli's wouldn't be able to understand. (Just like
President Hoover spoke to his wife in Chinese to keep their conversations
private in the White House).

He remarked that the only word that was common between English and Modern
Hebrew was "think".
