Exactly. What are people thinking of? The Turks will certainly contemplate the liquidation of the Kurds quite complacently. Why on earth would they ever want to protect them? The only effect this campaign will have is to make the Turks look bad in the aftermath. Perhaps that's the intent. It's hard to figure out what's going on here. Matters may have rather spun out of the control of those who originally set them in motion. Meanwhile there' a certain grim satisfaction in seeing tropes recycled from the Balkan wars.
