Apropos of this, here is something I wrote concerning labor's supportfor Obama
before his election to a second term.

Trumka and Hoffa Jr. were criticizing Obama before hiselection to a second
term. My comments are caustic, but characteras pathetic as Trumka and Hoffa Jr.
deserve worse I think. Jane McAleveyin her book Raising Expectation tells a
story about picking Trumka up at anairport. He had someone have a bagged
sandwich ready for him when hearrived. He opened it in Jane's car and then went
berserk becausethere was something missing that he wanted on the sandwich
(mustard maybe, I can't remember). Sounded just like Mr. Steinbrenner on the
Seinfeld show.This is the kind of person at the helm of our largest labor
federation.The voice of the working class!
