What the impact of the speech will be is yet to be determined. It's
certainly not about getting Obama elected to anything; he's not running for
anything.

One impact that the speech could have is establishing a new floor for
Democrats in talking about the Warren issues. Like, if you're not at least
as good on these issues as POTUS was in the SOTU, then send in the next
contestant, thanks for playing.

Hopefully, groups like MoveOn, Democracy of America and the Congressional
Progressive Caucus will take on the project of establishing this as a new
floor...
