First, the quote by itself misrepresents the position of the writer,
Michael Robert. He goes on to say that a real social-democratic program
in Greece "will mean taking over the Greek banks, introducing capital
controls, and bringing into public ownership and control strategic
industries and companies with a plan for investment. Such an investment
plan should be pan-European, with an appeal to the labour movement
through Europe to campaign for this. But won’t Greece be thrown out of
the euro anyway if it adopts these policies? Well, maybe, even probably."

The attempt to align the writer with Louis' attempt to make a big
bogeyman out of Greece leaving the euro is unfounded.

Second, Roberts would have a strategy that goes for a pan-European
transformation, while the CP of Greece, if we may dare to quote a
"Stalinist" group, advocates "fighting for another development path that
will serve the needs of the people today, with disengagement from the
EU, unilateral cancellation of the debts, with the socialization of the
monopolies and with the people holding the reins of power." (

) Sort of sounds like Castro in 1959.
