LP: "When the protests erupted in Syria in 2011, I tried to get as much
information as possible about the social and economic conditions that
spurred people into action."

Good advice. However, his post quotes one paragraph from an article
about the growth in Syria of a wealthy stratum based on close,
corrupting ties to the state. That's it. Nothing about the class
composition of the country, nothing about the more basic relationships
of exploitation in Syria, and nothing about the agricultural-industrial
ratio nor the ratio of production for subsistence and for the market.
After that, the post dumps several thousand words on the reader of he
said, she said about who used gas in Syria and similar matters, which
journalistic articles are reliable and which not, etc.

Proof that Marxism, too, can be trivialized.
