I forget the  exact phrase, but critics of the left have often spoken of fights 
over "small differences." Such fights can be more vicious than fights over 
major differences. I think this is what is creating the wrangles listed:

In 2009 the DP controlled Congress and did not a damn thing for unions. Nor did 
they make an effort on gun control. And Obama appointed a prick of a former 
Philadelphia Police Chief to investigate the "problem" of Killer Cops. Check
