Independent? I guess that I made a mistake assuming that you ran the
magazine on MIT's campus meant something. Maybe next week I'll stop at
Bollinger's office at Columbia and see if I can line up space for a
journal I've had on the drawing board for some time now. It will be
called "The Iron Proletarian Fist". Btw, I'm not the only person
confused by your connections to Pentagon North. A website called
Economics.Designerz.com has a link to your journal with the comment:
"MIT's prestigious Boston Review discusses the rise of income inequality
in the United States with a variety of economists and proposes some
remedies, all along socialist lines." I can't wait to read your article
on transforming the USA along socialist lines. I assume that you'll be
bringing in outside consultants from West Point.
The criticisms below are ridiculous. If you have informed criticisms of
the article (as opposed to irrelevant stuff about what Hashim said in
other venues), please send them to the Review.

Oh, I see. If a featured article in your rag is written by somebody who
only a couple of months ago was advising the Senate Foreign Committee
relations committee on how to subdue the unruly Iraqis, that was just a
coincidence. This is the kind of corruption that practically cries out
for a new Julian Benda.
