In any case, most people on PEN-l -- Carrol in Illinois, Jim, Michael Perelman, etc. in California, Carl, Doug, Lou, etc. in New York, etc. -- have been already disregarded by the two parties of the ruling classes in the presidential election anyway.
Let's not forget the big picture -- this disregard extends to the NY senatorial race as well, where celebrated liberal Democrat Sucky-Chucky Schumer boasted in a recent candidates' debate about being "rather hawkish" on foreign policy, while offering only "mild criticism" (says the NY Times) of Bush's handling of Iraq.
