As a Canadian watching and reading this ongoing debate about ABB and

of which is the fact that we have no say in the election even though
our lives will be greatly affected by the outcome.
You do have a say in the outcome. "Canada won't commit troops to
Iraq regardless of the outcome of the U.S. presidential election,
Prime Minister Paul Martin indicated Thursday" (Associated Press, "No
Canadian Troops for Iraq Even If Kerry Wins, PM Suggests," October
28, 2004,

Can we count on that?
The only question is can you take the chance of Bush being elected
(for the first time) and thereby threatening the world with rampant
imperialism, death and destruction
The rest of the world should have refused to back and participate in
Washington's Afghan venture:
<blockquote>"What I want is for Canada to be involved where we can
have a significant influence or impact," he [Prime Minister Paul
Martin] said.
"We have that in Afghanistan -- we are very important there. Same
thing in Haiti."
Canadians are already involved in training Iraqi police officers in
Jordan, Martin added.
There are about 1,600 troops deployed overseas right now. (Associated
Press, "No Canadian Troops for Iraq Even If Kerry Wins, PM Suggests,"

If the rest of the world -- including Canadians -- as well as US
liberals now keen on electing John Kerry refused to support and
participate in the Afghan campaign, Washington would have had to
either back off from the invasion and settle for missile strikes or
at least had to commit more US troops in Afghanistan so that fewer US
troops would have been available for invading Iraq.
