Hi Ellen! Of course it isn't a hard and fast divide and there are many angles to the distinction. But if I had to pick one, I would say structures versus policy choices. Radicals tend to see shortcomings as deeply embeded in existing structures and thus requiring change in those structures. Liberals tend to see mistaken policies that can be readily changed if the political will can be mustered.
