A couple of Green Party activist friends and I went to a John Kerry
rally -- 40,000 in attendance -- yesterday to hand out our flyers

demonstration against the occupations. We were the only activists
there who were putting out anything about post-election mobilization.

One thing that's political and mature is to simply IGNORE the 2008 election and continue to work on the anti-war and similar radical projects that were ongoing during 2007 rather than shelving them in 2008 to "win" the fixed election (the way a lot of leftists typically do).

It's activists' inability to overcome the idea that they should help elect the Democratic presidential candidate that makes them shelve their own political project every four years. -- Yoshie
